American Idol’s Hollywood Week is always full of surprises. This season’s episode was no exception, but the excitement came from a hilarious wardrobe malfunction caused by judge Katy Perry. As Perry and her fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie sang “Teenage Dream” with the audience, Perry got a little too low during the line “I’ma get your heart racing in my skin-tight jeans.” Suddenly, the back of her pants split wide open, much to everyone’s amusement.
When Perry noticed that the seams of her pink low-rise pants gave up and let the breeze in, she didn’t go hunting for a new pair. Instead, she asked for some gaffer’s tape and had the tear fixed by the show’s crew. The entire episode was quite amusing as Lionel Richie sang his hit track “Stuck on You” in the background.
During a recent episode of American Idol, Katy Perry experienced a wardrobe malfunction. However, she took it in stride and even made fun of herself on Twitter. Her fellow judge, Bryan, also teased her for the mishap on social media by jokingly stating that the show is supposed to be family-friendly. Perry responded with a humorous comment, indicating that the program may not be as wholesome as it appears.
Apart from Perry’s sensational performance, last night’s episode of American Idol showcased several contestants who graced the stage. Unfortunately, five of them, namely Sam Finelli, Delaney Renee, Luke Taylor, Thomas Patrick Moran, and Zaréh, were eliminated. Fans can catch American Idol every Sunday and Monday at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
